Old Coleham Court emerges

Old Coleham Court is starting the emerge. The steel frame is growing piece by piece and the street-level entrance hall is taking shape.

These two elements reveal the design and construction methods that will protect the building from potential flood waters.

The steel frame reveals the height of the car park level, raised above ground and well over 1-in-30-year flood event levels. A ramp will lead up to the car park from street level.

The entrance hall sits at street level and is constructed with specialist waterproof concrete. Stairs will lead residents to the raised car park, post room and lift entrance. In the event of street level flooding, the entrance hall will remain dry and residents will use an alternative dry route in the South corner of the building.

The first floor apartments are raised to 4.7m above ground level.
