Office Administrator

SY Homes is seeking a capable and confident Office Administrator for our new headquarters in Shrewsbury.

You’ll be the central point of contact for our growing team of construction site managers, project leaders, sales / marketing staff, and finance team. Based in our modern offices, you will create a welcoming environment for visitors, clients and customers.

This is a hands-on role for an organised administrator with an understanding of office finance. Must thrive on structure, have experience in a similar role, and fit into our ambitious and award-winning, family-run business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of our modern office, maintaining a tidy, well-organised, and welcoming workspace
  • Manage incoming calls and emails, greeting clients, suppliers, and site visitors professionally
  • Enter and update project data in our CRM system
  • Use Xero to file invoices, reconcile records, and support financial admin tasks
  • Create and issue purchase orders accurately and efficiently
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support team needs — including Sales & Marketing, Customer services & After care, Site Managers, and Directors
  • Take initiative in developing systems and processes to keep the office running smoothly

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a similar office administration role
  • Professional communicator — both written and verbal — with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems
  • Proficient with Xero (or similar accounting software).
  • Strong organisational skills and a self-motivated approach
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and happy to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities

Full-time or part-time

  • For this new role, full-time or part-time options will be considered for the right candidate. We are happy to discuss flexible working patterns to suit personal commitments. For example, school-hours friendly.
  • Salary will be pro rata.
